Sumitra's Story

Sumitra

I am Sumitra Gautam, Bhutanese lady of 35yr old and I have been in Darwin on the 4th of March. I like Darwin but as the time pass I know some agency who helps us. After some days I know that there is a small programme called My Sisters' Kitchen  then I joined in it. From  there I get the chance to learn some thing of the different cultures  like cooking, story and I know there are different types of refugees in the world and we are also one of them. In the kitchen I meet with the African, Burmese, Chinese etc. there I share my feeling and thinking  to other refugee women. They are also very nice people, I get relief from them. According to me this programme  is very good for the newly migrated people  like Bhutanes refugees. The programme is run by a lady called Brenda. She is very nice lady I never forget  her,  she is very helpful and kind lady.I want to gives lots of thank for the kitchen. I get the relief from my stress and tension with the helps of  My Sisters Kitchen programme. So I am very happy to the My Sisters' Kitchen,  it teach us lots of thing like cooking of different types of food  of different cultures and countries.I have lots of pain suffering in my mind.  I lived in refugee camp for 18 yr with the pressure and stress. I am very sick  and I have going to have on operation on the 21st of July. After that we are planning to  move to  Cairns  where my relatives lives. At the last but not the least I want to say  My Sisters' Kitchen programme is very good and it should be continue.  Thank you.
