Delightfully chaotic cultural extravaganza with Alyson cooking traditional Welsh Cakes and Cawl, a Welsh lamb and vegetable stew. Fortunately the pot of stew was huge as we had many to feed. We had quite  a few of the regulars, including Aung Aung a 20 year old Burmese man who spent the first 19 years of his life in a Refugee camp on the Thai border. Aung Aung is busy completing year 12 in the hope that he will go on to ANU to study international relations and politics. Along with the regular MSK sisters and brother we had some new guests from Bhutan who have been in Australia for 1 month. In between games and running around, some of the young ones began work on the MSK fridge for the Fridge festival, making a food decoupage on the outside.  All in all a great afternoon ending with all 30 of us sitting around a long table enjoying food together. Next week we are treated to some traditional Bhutanese cuisine, I can’t wait.   by Anna Weekes
